Standards — Framework Doc. 01

How Every Article Is Built.

Tarim's editorial standards are not a marketing statement. They are the operational rules by which every article in the archive is researched, written, reviewed, and revised. This page documents those rules in full.

01 — The Process

Seven steps from source to publication

01

Topic Identification

A subject is selected based on reader relevance and the existence of a sufficient published-research base. Topics without a traceable research record are not accepted.

02

Source Gathering

Relevant published papers, qualified nutrition guidance, and independent review documents are assembled. Sources are assessed for recency and methodological soundness.

03

Scope Setting

Before writing begins, the boundaries of the article are defined in writing. What the piece will address and — critically — what falls outside its scope, are both documented.

04

First Draft

The article is written to the scope document. Claims are written only to the level the sources support. Where evidence is contested or incomplete, that uncertainty is stated plainly.

05

Source Verification

Every factual claim in the draft is checked against its cited source by a second reviewer. Discrepancies between the claim and the source are corrected before proceeding.

06

Practical Review

The article is assessed for practical applicability within Jakarta's specific context: climate conditions, food availability, work schedule patterns, and typical daily infrastructure.

07

Live Revision

After publication, entries remain open for revision when relevant new research appears. Each revision is dated and logged within the entry. No published piece is considered permanently final.

02 — Source Standards

What qualifies as an acceptable source

Not all published material carries equal weight. Tarim applies a tiered source hierarchy that determines how claims are phrased, qualified, and attributed.

A

Tier A — Primary research literature

Peer-reviewed studies published in indexed journals. These are the preferred citation basis. Claims derived from Tier A sources are stated directly, with the study cited. Recency is assessed — studies older than 12 years are flagged for follow-up review.

B

Tier B — Institutional guidance and systematic reviews

Published guidance from recognised nutrition and public health bodies, and systematic reviews or meta-analyses that aggregate primary research. Claims from Tier B sources are stated with attribution and a note on consensus status where relevant.

C

Tier C — Qualified professional consensus

Expert consensus from qualified nutrition professionals where primary research is absent or inconclusive. Claims from Tier C sources are qualified explicitly: "current professional consensus suggests..." rather than stated as established fact.

Not accepted — Commercial content and unattributed claims

Brand-produced white papers, sponsored research, unattributed wellness publications, and content produced by parties with a financial interest in the outcome are not accepted as source material under any circumstances.

03 — Scope Boundaries

What Tarim covers and what lies outside its scope

Editorial scope is defined by the qualifications of the team, the nature of the publication, and the realistic needs of a working man reading a wellness journal. Subjects that require specialist professional assessment are not within scope, and are not published.

Within Scope
  • Daily routine structure
Morning routines, sleep schedules, work-life rhythm, and progress tracking approaches for men in full-time working roles.
  • Functional fitness and movement
Strength and conditioning principles, outdoor fitness activities, body composition awareness, and active recovery methods suited to non-professional training contexts.
  • Nutrition and hydration habits
Whole-food sourcing, balanced plate composition, portion awareness, hydration and recovery, and mindful eating practices drawn from published nutritional research.
  • Grooming and personal care
Skincare basics, grooming essentials, seasonal style, and wardrobe planning for men in a tropical urban climate without specialist dermatological context.
  • Stress and cognitive load management
Evidence-informed approaches to managing daily pressure, sustaining energy and focus, and building structured rest practices during high-demand working periods.
Outside Scope
  • Any subject requiring professional assessment
Topics that require individual professional evaluation — including specific dietary requirements, persistent physical concerns, or any matter beyond general wellness guidance — are not covered.
  • Product endorsements or formulation recommendations
Tarim does not endorse, evaluate, or recommend specific products, formulations, or supplement brands. Ingredient-role descriptions follow published nutritional research only.
  • Performance enhancement claims
Content implying outcome assurance — rapid body composition changes, energy level modifications beyond evidence-supported ranges, or outcome-specific performance claims — is outside editorial scope.
  • Trending wellness without research basis
Topics that circulate primarily through social media or commercial channels, without a sufficient published research record, are not accepted regardless of popularity or demand.
04 — Sourcing

When Tarim describes nutritional ingredients, it follows published role descriptions

Ingredient profiles referenced within the archive are drawn from the published nutritional literature and undergo independent batch verification for composition and labelling accuracy. Active ingredients referenced are drawn from documented suppliers whose facilities maintain food-grade processing standards.

Each batch reference is accompanied by a certificate of composition. Sourcing prioritises suppliers whose documentation chain is traceable, current, and available for review.

Nutrient Role Reference
  • Zinc — supports normal cognitive function and immune health
  • Magnesium — contributes to normal energy metabolism and reduces tiredness
  • Vitamin D3 — supports normal function of the immune system
  • Vitamin B12 — contributes to normal energy production
  • Vitamin C — supports normal function of the immune system

Role descriptions follow published nutritional reference values only. No performance claims beyond the published evidence base are made.

05 — Revision Policy

Triggered by new research

When a published study materially changes the evidence basis for a claim in an existing entry, revision is initiated within 30 days of the new study being assessed by the editorial team.

Dated and documented

Every revision carries the original publication date alongside the revision date. Readers can identify what has changed and when. Revision notes are appended to the entry record rather than replacing original metadata.

Same review process

Revised entries pass through the same seven-step review process as new publications. A revision that does not meet the source-verification standard is held until it does, regardless of how minor the change appears.

06 — Standards FAQ

Questions about how we work.

No. All content in the archive is produced by the founding editor and contributing reviewers. External contributions are not accepted in any form, including guest posts, sponsored contributions, or editorial partnerships.

Sources are referenced inline in the article text and listed at the end of each entry with their publication year and institution. Tier A and Tier B sources are identified. Readers who wish to access the original source material are directed to the reference list.

The founding editor holds professional qualifications in nutrition and has worked in applied wellness contexts for over eight years. Contributing reviewers are assessed for relevant subject knowledge before joining the review process. Credentials are available on request.

Where a subject has significant disagreement within the published literature, the article presents the range of current positions rather than selecting one. The degree of consensus or disagreement is stated explicitly. Tarim does not resolve contested areas by editorial preference.

Notice

Tarim is an independent wellness resource focused on everyday nutrition and active lifestyle practices for men. The content is not affiliated with any governmental or institutional body. We recommend speaking with a qualified wellness or nutrition professional before introducing any supplement to your daily routine, particularly if you have specific dietary requirements. Ingredient profiles in Tarim content are selected based on published nutritional research and undergo independent batch verification for quality and labelling accuracy.
